Jury Duty

Yesterday I received a jury summons from DC Superior Court. Since I haven’t been a resident of the District of Columbia for the past six months, I don’t qualify to sit on a jury there. This makes the eighth time I’ve been called for jury duty in the last 10 years. I guess they think I’m really qualified to be a juror? Here’s the rundown:

Timelapse video of my friends Nick and Brian (aka ToolBox, aka DJs Yellow Fever) installing their painting of Marvin Gaye (based on the inside gatefold of “Marvin Gaye Live!”) at Marvin, a newish restaurant in DC owned by Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton. (The only way this post could be more DC is if Ian MacKaye played a benefit show for it hosted by Ian Svenonius).

“Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation” is playing at the Hirshhorn in March. This is the shot by shot remake a bunch of kids from Mississippi did in the late 80s. Two of them are going to be there to introduce it.
